How to Spend your 2017-2018 Yacht Season

Oct 12, 2017

When does 2017-2018 yacht season begin? Well it already has! The Southern Hemisphere yacht season began September 2017 and ends March 2018. Yachts from all over the world come to South Florida, especially season chasers in the Mediterranean who head south for the winter. The South Florida season is filled with yachting events, boat shows and calm waters.

If this is your first yacht season or if you’re just looking for ideas for the 2017-2018 yacht season, then this is for you.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2017

Without a doubt the most anticipated event during the 2017-2018 yacht season will be FLIBS. Expect a 5-day yachting extravaganza with special events, superyacht showcases, and lots of exhibitors, yacht enthusiasts, and parties.

If you’re in South Florida between Nov1 – Nov 5, then you should be there! If not, then cancel all your other plans and cruise towards Fort Lauderdale, just don’t miss it!

Yacht Management will be in attendance this year so stop by and say hello!

Bimini Wahoo Mayhem 2017

If you are looking for a water event with a little more action, then the Bimini Wahoo Mayhem tournament must be on your list. This big fishing event brings together some of the most competitive sports fishers in South Florida who compete to take home $50,000.

However, if sports fishing just ain’t your thing, then use Wahoo Mayhem as an excuse to visit the island. Bimini is a one of the best places to yacht. Ask any local South Floridian, it’s the place to be every season. Nov 16 – Nov 18. Learn more about Bimini Wahoo Mayhem here.

Christmas in the Bahamas

You couldn’t enjoy the 2017-2018 yacht season without a trip to the Bahamas! Seasonal yachters visit the Bahamas more than anywhere else in South Florida and it’s easy to understand why. Where else could you spend Christmas day on the beach?

Enjoy palm trees filled with Christmas lights and the Winterfest yacht parade sponsored by the Hard Rock Casino. Many Yacht Management customers travel to the Bahamas during yacht season and it never disappoints.

Boca Bash 2018

Boca Bash kicks off the last week of April in Boca Raton, just 17 miles North of Fort Lauderdale. Lake Boca, located on the South Florida Intracoastal, hosts hundreds of boats, yachts and the occasional jet ski. Yachts are tied together to create a large, yacht island and that’s when the partying starts.

No current information for Boca Bash is up, but check the Boca Bash Facebook page for more info.
