Yacht Management has entered a strategic partnership with Global Wings, a private aviation company, giving our clients access to aviation support that works the same way our yacht management does.
To be precise about what this is: we are not becoming an aviation company. Global Wings handles the aircraft. What the partnership gives you is a trusted point of entry to that side of your travel, arranged through people who already know how you operate.
Why Yacht Owners End Up Needing Both
The overlap here is not really about lifestyle. It is about logistics.
A vessel is rarely in the same place twice. It moves between cruising grounds by season, and getting the owner, family, and guests to wherever it happens to be is a recurring problem that scheduled airlines solve poorly. Guests joining partway through an itinerary compound it, since they need to reach a specific port on a specific day, often somewhere without convenient commercial service.
Owners who already fly privately end up managing two separate relationships that are constantly affecting each other. The yacht schedule drives the flight schedule, and a change to one creates a change to the other. Most of the friction comes from the two sides never talking to each other directly.
What Global Wings Brings
Global Wings is a private aviation company covering the ownership lifecycle rather than a single service. The following are their capabilities, not ours.
Aircraft Brokerage
Representation in the purchase or sale of an aircraft, which is the aviation equivalent of the buying process many of our clients have already been through on the water.
Aircraft Management
Ongoing operational management of an owned aircraft, covering the administrative and operational load that comes with ownership. Structurally, this is the closest parallel to what we do for a vessel.
Charter Solutions
Arranged charter for owners who would rather not own an aircraft, or who need lift beyond what their own aircraft covers.
Maintenance Coordination and Ownership Support
Coordination of maintenance and the broader support that keeps an aircraft available and compliant, which is the aviation counterpart to the yard and technical oversight side of yacht management.
Where Aviation and Yacht Coordination Intersect
The value of having both sides connected shows up in specific situations rather than in the abstract. A few that come up regularly:
- Guest arrivals mid-itinerary. Guests joining in a port the vessel reaches on a particular date, where the flight and the vessel schedule have to be planned against each other rather than separately.
- Repositioning seasons. When a vessel crosses to a new cruising ground, owner and crew travel has to be arranged around a delivery window that can move.
- Yard periods. An owner traveling in to review progress during a refit, on dates that depend on how the work is actually going.
- Schedule changes. Weather, mechanical issues, and itinerary changes affect both sides at once, and the two are far easier to re-plan when someone is aware of both.
- Crew movement. Getting crew to and from the vessel during rotation, particularly when the vessel is somewhere commercial routing does not serve well.
Why We Chose a Boutique Partner
There is no shortage of aviation providers who would happily take a referral from a yacht management company. The reason this one is worth announcing is that the way they work matches the way we work.
Global Wings operates as a boutique, white-glove business built around discretion, transparency, and personalized service for clients traveling internationally. That is the same standard we hold ourselves to, and it is why we keep our own client portfolio selective rather than scaling it.
The practical consequence is that clients get a named contact who knows their situation, rather than a call center and a booking reference. An owner who values that in how their vessel is managed generally wants the same thing in how they travel to it.
What This Changes and What It Does Not
Nothing about your existing management program changes. Your yacht manager, technical manager, financial controller, and reporting all stay exactly as they are. The aviation partnership is available to clients who want it and entirely optional for those who do not.
What it does change is that you no longer have to source and vet an aviation provider independently. The relationship is already established, the standards are already understood on both sides, and the introduction comes from a team that knows how you operate.
We should also be clear about the division of responsibility. Global Wings is accountable for aviation services, aircraft, and everything operational on that side. Yacht Management remains accountable for your vessel. The partnership connects the two rather than merging them, which is the arrangement that keeps both parties doing what they are actually good at.
Getting Access
If private aviation is already part of how you travel, or you are considering it, the introduction is straightforward. You can read more on our private aviation page, or raise it with your yacht manager directly, and we will make the connection.
For owners not yet working with us, private aviation access sits alongside the rest of our superyacht management program. Contact Yacht Management to discuss your vessel and what management services would look like for the way you use it.
