Transportation Options to Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2019
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is one of the yachting industry’s top events and the largest in-water boat show in the world. Every year it has attracted hundreds of thousands of yachting enthusiasts and professionals from all over the world. This year’s show is expected to be no different, especially since the show is celebrating its landmark 60th anniversary. With so many people attending FLIBS 2019, driving may not be the most ideal way to get to the show. We’ve listed some convenient alternatives.
Shuttle Bus
Sponsored by boating supplies retail company West Marine, there will be an extensive shuttle system taking guests to and from FLIBS 2019. Made up of five routes, the shuttle system can be used free of charge. Shuttle buses will transport attendees to and from the boat show’s seven different locations including the Convention Center, Hilton Marina, the marina at Bahia Mar, Pier 66, and the newly introduced Superyacht Village. Shuttle buses run from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday to Saturday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
- Blue Route – Loop includes stops at Bahia Mar Yachting Center and the Convention Center.
- Brown Route – Loop includes stops at the War Memorial and The Las Olas Marina.
- Red Route – Loop includes stops at the Brightline Station and the Riverside Hotel Water Taxi docks.
- Green Route – Loop includes stops at Bahia Mar, Pier 66, the Convention Center, The Sails Marina, and Superyacht Village.
- Yellow Route – Loop includes stops at the War Memorial and the Convention Center.
Water Taxi
If you want to avoid traffic altogether, taking a water taxi is the best way to travel to and from the show. Bright yellow water taxis have been a highlight of Fort Lauderdale’s waterways for years, but they are one of the particularly useful transportation options to Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2019. Water taxis will take guests to and from all show sites as well as parking lots to the North, West, and South. Tickets cost $12.00 per person for one Show Day or $60.00 per person for a 5-Day pass. The service will be available during the following times:
- Wednesday – 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Thursday to Saturday – 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday – 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Ride-Sharing Apps
If you’d rather not drive to the show yourself but would rather avoid more public modes of transportation, scheduling a ride on Lyft or Uber is an option open to you. However, it’s important to note that there will be only two Uber/Lyft drop off points at this year’s show. One will be at the south corner of Las Olas Bridge, near the Bahia Mar Yachting Center. The other will be under the south-east corner of the 17th Street Bridge, near Hilton Marina.
